Your First Visit

At The Bromley Physiotherapy and Injury Rehab Clinic, your first appointment is focused on understanding the cause of your symptoms and creating a clear plan for recovery.

Every assessment is thorough and structured so that we can identify the factors contributing to your pain or movement restriction. From there, we develop a treatment and rehabilitation plan tailored specifically to your condition and recovery goals.

What To Expect During Your First Appointment

Your initial consultation usually involves three main stages.

Initial Discussion

We begin by discussing your symptoms, medical history and daily activities. This helps us understand when the problem began, what aggravates it and how it is affecting your day-to-day life.

You may be asked about:

Physical Assessment

A physical examination is then carried out to assess the affected area and identify the structures contributing to your symptoms.

This may include:

This process helps us understand the underlying cause of the problem rather than simply treating symptoms.

Explanation & Treatment Plan

After the assessment, we will explain our findings and discuss the most appropriate treatment plan.

Where appropriate, treatment may begin during the first session. You may also receive guidance on exercises or movement strategies that can help support recovery between appointments.

Our Rehabilitation Approach

At The Bromley Physiotherapy and Injury Rehab Clinic, rehabilitation programmes are structured and progressive rather than generic exercise sheets.

Where appropriate, patients receive clear week-by-week rehabilitation guidance designed to gradually restore movement, strength and function.

These programmes are tailored to the stage of recovery and may include:

Each stage builds on the previous one so that recovery progresses safely and effectively.

Follow-Up Appointments

Follow-up sessions focus on progressing rehabilitation and supporting ongoing recovery. The number of sessions varies depending on the condition, severity of symptoms and individual progress.

Manual therapy techniques
Mobility work

How Do I Book an Appointment?

Booking an appointment at The Bromley Physiotherapy and Injury Rehab Clinic is simple.

Appointments can be booked online through our booking system, where you can view available times and choose a slot that suits your schedule.

If you have any questions before booking, you are welcome to contact the clinic and we will be happy to help.

Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation message with the details of your session.

Where availability allows, same-day appointments may be available for certain services.

If you would like to be seen as soon as possible, we recommend booking online to view the earliest available appointments or contacting the clinic directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If a same-day appointment is not available, we will aim to offer the earliest suitable appointment.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee. This allows us to offer the appointment time to other patients who may be waiting to be seen.

If you need to change your appointment, please contact the clinic as soon as possible.

If you are running late for your appointment, please contact the clinic as soon as possible.

We will do our best to accommodate you, however arriving late may reduce the available treatment time for your session. In some cases, it may be necessary to reschedule the appointment.

Patients are responsible for payment at the time of their appointment.

If you have private health insurance, we recommend checking with your provider to confirm whether your policy covers the service you are receiving. We can provide a receipt following your appointment which you may be able to use when making a claim with your insurer.

Coverage and reimbursement will depend on your individual insurance policy.

You do not need to know the exact cause of your symptoms before booking an appointment.

During your first visit, we will assess your movement, discuss your symptoms and identify possible contributing factors. From there, we can explain what may be causing the problem and outline the most appropriate treatment approach.

If your symptoms require further investigation or referral, we will also advise you on the most appropriate next steps.
